Modification Station blueprint map
Current Modification Station blueprint markers are scouting points, not a tested safest route. Pick a marker you can reach and return from, then verify the route in your save.
The Modification Station is the base module that turns mid-game materials into real progression. If you already have the Habitat Builder and are starting to collect Celestine, Enameled Glass, Conduit Crystal, Atacamite, or Troilite, plan this station before spending those materials on side crafts.
Start with a scan marker
The current map export includes 3 Modification Station blueprint markers. Use the map layer as a scouting tool:
- Open the Modification Station blueprint filter on the map.
- Choose the marker with the clearest return path from a landmark you already know.
- Bring a Scanner, enough oxygen margin, and the tools you normally use for deeper wreck or ruins checks.
- Scan until the blueprint unlocks.
- Leave and build the station before turning the trip into a long resource run.
If a marker drops into a route you cannot safely exit, do not force it. Come back after improving oxygen, vehicle depth, or route knowledge.
Build the station at your base
Once the blueprint is unlocked, the current local recipe data lists the Modification Station as a Builder Tool craft:
| Material | Local cost | Practical note |
|---|---|---|
| Titanium | 2 | Keep some spare for room and base support pieces. |
| Celestine | 2 | Do not spend all early Celestine if Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 1 is also your goal. |
| Copper | 2 | Bring extra if you still need wiring or electronics for nearby crafts. |
Place it in a powered base with enough room to open the upgrade menu without blocking storage or vehicle access. A small working base is enough; the station matters more than decorative expansion at this stage.
Choose the upgrade that solves the blocker
The current local blueprint export lists these Modification Station crafts:
| Upgrade | Current local cost | Use it when… |
|---|---|---|
| Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 1 | 3 Celestine, 2 Enameled Glass, 1 System Chip | Deeper travel is blocking safer resource or blueprint trips. |
| Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 2 | 2 Dedicated Core, 2 Troilite, 2 Mangalloy Ingot | You are past the first depth upgrade and need the next vehicle depth step. |
| Bioscanner | 1 Scanner, 2 Enameled Glass, 3 Conduit Crystal | Scanning progress or alien-tech checks are blocking you. |
| Feedback Resonator | 1 Sonic Resonator, 2 Enameled Glass, 2 Conduit Crystal, 2 Strontium | Hardened material interactions are the blocker. |
| Echo Location | 3 Quartz, 1 Mild Acid, 1 Atacamite | You need the upgraded location tool path before spending Atacamite elsewhere. |
| Engine Efficiency | 1 Titanium Ingot, 2 Glass, 1 System Chip | Vehicle efficiency is more important than depth or scanning right now. |
| Cavitation Muffler | 3 Titanium, 2 Strontium | Travel noise and creature pressure are the problem. |
| Strike Armor | 2 Enameled Glass, 2 Strontium | Vehicle damage pressure is stopping repeated trips. |
| Photovoltaic Charger | 1 Copper Ingot, 1 Strong Acid, 1 Troilite | Power management is blocking longer vehicle use. |
Do not craft from the top of the list automatically. If depth is stopping you, save for Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 1 first. If scanning progress is stopping you, compare Bioscanner against your Conduit Crystal supply. If a route is dangerous because of creature pressure, the defensive or noise-control upgrades may matter more.
Quick checklist
- Open the Modification Station blueprint map layer.
- Pick one reachable scan marker, not the deepest-looking one.
- Bring a Scanner and leave enough oxygen to return.
- Scan until the Modification Station blueprint unlocks.
- Gather 2 Titanium, 2 Celestine, and 2 Copper.
- Build the Modification Station with the Builder Tool in a powered base.
- Check your real blocker: depth, scanning, hardened materials, vehicle safety, or power.
- Craft only the upgrade that solves that blocker.
