Quartz resource map
Current exported Quartz markers are shown on the orthographic map preview. Use the full map link for exact filtering, then verify the route in your current build.
Quartz is one of the first resources that can quietly block several projects at once. The local recipe export shows it in Scanner, Glass, System Chip, Fabricator, Solar Panel, Distraction Flare, and multiple base pieces, so do not spend your first few pieces casually if you are trying to unlock scanning, vehicle progress, or a starter base.
Start with loose Quartz
Use the full map and search or filter for Quartz. Pick a nearby group with several markers close together, then plan a short return path before you dive.
The current marker export separates Quartz into loose pickups, nodes, and deposits. For an early route, collect loose Quartz first. Nodes and deposits may still be useful, but check your oxygen, tool access, and return path before committing to a deeper stop.
What to spend first
If you only have a few pieces, spend Quartz in this order:
- Scanner, because scanning unlocks blueprints and turns future searches into a repeatable loop.
- Glass, especially if the next vehicle or base piece needs it.
- System Chip, if you are working through the Tadpole or electronics chain.
- Fabricator, Solar Panel, Distraction Flare, lights, lockers, and room pieces after your immediate progression blocker is solved.
This order is a practical starting point, not a permanent rule. If you already have a Scanner and enough Glass, spend Quartz on the craft that removes your current bottleneck.
Read the map carefully
Do not treat every Quartz marker as equal. A cluster with mostly loose markers is a better early target than a cluster that is mostly deposits if you have not confirmed the required tool or route.
If the map points you toward a cave, coral structure, or lower area that feels too deep for your current oxygen, turn back and choose a shallower cluster. A small safe haul is better than losing the route, inventory, or vehicle progress while trying to follow a route that has not been checked in your current build.
What not to assume yet
Do not build your plan around Quartz respawning until you have tested it in your own build. Public guides and community posts can be useful for route ideas, but this page only uses them as demand and comparison signals.
Also avoid assuming a large Quartz deposit is the same as a loose pickup. The map can show where Quartz exists; it does not prove that every marker is reachable, harvestable, or safe at your current progression point.
Quick checklist
- Open
/map/and filter forQuartz. - Choose a nearby cluster with several markers, preferably loose Quartz.
- Plan a return path before entering caves or deeper terrain.
- Collect enough Quartz for Scanner, Glass, and System Chip needs first.
- Spend extra Quartz on power, lights, storage, or room pieces only after the main craft is covered.
- Mark any deposit-heavy or deep route for later testing.
- Recheck Quartz routes after major Early Access patches.
Sources and current limits
This page is based on local exported item, recipe, and map marker data. It does not claim a tested fastest route, a tested respawn timer, a confirmed deposit tool requirement, or a confirmed safe early cave path yet.
