Install Hotfix 4 before rebuilding or restarting
Hotfix 4 is a narrow follow-up to Adaptive Measures. It fixes two problems that could stop ordinary play: Angel Combs failing to open and water currents appearing inside player bases. It also restores the FOV slider on Xbox and fixes two low-frequency crashes.
If you use community mods, disable or remove them before launching the new build. Unknown Worlds says mods may not yet be compatible and can cause crashes or other unexpected behavior.
Closed Angel Combs should get one clean retest
Some players reached an Angel Comb that would not open and could not continue progression. After updating, reload the save and retry the expected interaction once before following old advice about clipping into the object or restarting the run.
This fix does not mean every closed Comb is bugged. A player can still be missing a required nearby objective. Confirm the Hotfix 4 build and the normal objective state before separating a remaining route problem from the fixed blocker.
A current inside your base was not a new building mechanic
Adaptive Measures could place water currents inside bases, affecting movement, trapping players, and preventing construction or expansion. Hotfix 4 targets that regression.
Update and revisit the affected room before moving lockers, deconstructing modules, or relocating the base. Intentional currents outside a base still serve normal travel and turbine routes; the fix is specifically about currents appearing inside player-built space.
Xbox may receive the fix later than PC
The Xbox FOV slider should appear on Hotfix 4, and the patch fixes a crash when accepting a session invite on Xbox. Unknown Worlds says Xbox availability follows certification and that worldwide rollout can take time.
If the slider is still missing or an invite still crashes, check the installed build before assuming the fix failed. Cross-platform groups should also confirm that everyone is on compatible versions.
